1990 Newspaper Article

In 1990, I made a surprise visit to my daughter Gloria’s home in Gallatin, Tennessee. This was three years before I decided to go undercover in 1993. My attempt to visit her was frustrated by both her husband and Gloria’s own reluctance to see me – because of her cult programming.

I decided to share my story and expose the Watchtower’s shunning policy. I contacted Kitty Kulakowski, a reporter for the Sumner County, Tennessee News Examiner. She was surprised and upset to learn that Jehovah’s Witnesses actually broke up families because of their disfellowshipping and shunning practices. She wrote a story based on the information I provided her. She and her editor were so kind and understanding as I shared my experiences with them.
